Whitening treatments can be effective on both extrinsic and intrinsic staining. Only natural teeth can be whitened; in most cases, tooth-colored restorations will not bleach. Carbamide peroxide and hydrogen peroxide are commonly used in whitening interventions and can readily permeate dental hard tissues. Temporary tooth sensitivity and gingival inflammation are the most common adverse effects.
Gum disease -
Deep cleaning has two parts. Scaling is when your dentist removes all the plaque and tartar (hardened plaque) above and below the gumline, making sure to clean all the way down to the bottom of the pocket. Your dentist will then begin root planing, smoothing out your teeth roots to help your gums reattach to your teeth. Scaling and root planing may take more than one visit to complete and may require a local anesthetic.
Dentures are removable appliances that can replace missing teeth and help restore your smile and teeth function. Dentures can either be full or partial, meaning they can either replace all teeth on either the top or bottom gum line, or just a few that are missing.
If you’re missing one or more teeth, you may notice a difference in chewing and speaking. Bridges can help restore your smile. Sometimes called a fixed partial denture, a bridge replaces missing teeth with artificial teeth and literally “bridges” the gap where one or more teeth used to be.
We perform various oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures, from routine extractions to surgical extractions. Bone grafting procedures are also offered if you elect to replace your missing teeth with a dental implant. Contact us today to schedule your appointment for a consultation.
Root canal therapy is used to repair and save a tooth that is badly decayed or becomes infected. During a root canal procedure, the nerve and pulp are removed and the inside of the tooth is cleaned and sealed.
What is a dental implant? A dental implant is a small "anchor" made of titanium. It is inserted into the jawbone to take the place of your missing tooth root. Dental implants can be used in a variety of situations, whether you need to replace a single missing tooth or many teeth. They can even be used to replace a full denture. As anchor points, implants can also securely attach a partial denture or bridge.
